The MS Office Live Workspace folks just launched their community site. http://officeliveworkspacecommunity.com
This community includes both custom skinned forums and blogs with a bunch of custom modules, like the "Community Recognition" piece seen on the home page.
Office Live Workspace is one of two products that the Office Live folks are putting together, it enables users to store & share MS Office documents in one place. This community provides an area to ask questions and interact with the Office Live product folks.
This was the first project given to me at Telligent (on my first day!). I am grateful to everyone involved in the project, it was truly a team effort!

This looks like a great conference for developers and designers alike. IMHO, developers who write any UI need to go to events like this, it's not just designers who create well designed applications--the whole team is involved.
UIE describes the event: "Over the three days of this premier event, you'll meet the innovators and world-class designers behind today's most successful web apps and come away inspired to create amazing applications that will delight your users."
I have attended UIE's annual conference in Boston and local conferences by UIE speakers in Seattle--these folks not only know how to put together a conference, but the content is phenomenal. It's thought leading, real-life, practical and fun all rolled into one. I guarantee you that your outlook will be impacted after this event.
The summit is broken into 3 days:
Day 1: Full-day workshops - "You'll start your journey with our full-day workshops, designed to dive right into the in-depth expertise behind creating successful applications."
Day 2: Making a great web app design - "On Day 2, you'll explore what makes a great web app design, with the essentials for planning great designs."
Day 3: Implementing the Best Web Apps - "On Day 3, you'll wrap up the event learning how to implement the best web apps, uncovering how to successfully go from concept to a coded web application."
When: March 26-28
Where: Coronado Island, California
How much: $1,549

I have to give a shout out to my favorite blog: EcoGeek.org. It's a marriage of Popular Science and green technology.
Here's what I love about it: they find great examples of ingenuity out there and present them with personality. Plenty of ambitious people have great ideas and products to live smarter on this planet and EcoGeek is a great place to find them. Smart ideas, gadgets, engineering 'marvels' and industrial design pique our curiosity and ignite us...it's the geek heroic ethic of our times.
My three favorite posts, so far (all images courtesy of EcoGeek.org):
- Using sink water to flush the toilet - just like it sounds. The system collects and filters sink water into a holding tank that the toilet draws from when flushing.

- Billboard Also Power Plant - billboards capped with solar panels that not only power themselves, but feed power back into the grid.

- Solar LED Road Studs Reduce accidents by 70% - solar powered "road turtles" in the UK help light the path at night. Brilliant!! Pun intended.

Also, if you check out nothing else, watch this video of a flying manta ray blimp. It's just beautiful.
